If you will check some articles online about car’s braking systems, you will learn that most cars before are using drum brakes and the name is derived from how the brake system looks. Now, however, this is not the case anymore as most newly manufactured vehicles are now using disc brakes as again, discs are now part of the braking system.

Another important component of the entire braking system is the disc brake caliper or brake caliper for that matter. The brake caliper can be considered as the most vital component if you think about it as this is what will slow the wheels by generating friction with the rotors.

However, just like any components of the entire braking system, the calipers will need to be replaced in time. You seem once the brake calipers will be ineffective with their roles, they must be replaced or the driver will be at a great risk.

The question is, how will you know the brake calipers need replacement? Do you have to wait for the time when your brakes will not work anymore? That would be like waiting for you to meet an accident!

Instead, you have to learn how to detect if your brake calipers are already starting to show some problems so that you can start dealing with them. Either bring your car to a mechanic or replace the brake calipers.

Signs that your brake calipers have problems:

  1. When brake fluid starts to leak

If you notice that the brake fluid is leaking from your car, it only means one thing and that is the seals have worn out already thus they cannot do their function properly. Since the brake fluid is the one enabling the brake calipers to do their function, it goes without saying that if it is not enough already because of the leak, the brake calipers ability to halt the car will diminish.

  1. If you hear abnormal sounds

Normally, you can’t hear any sound at all when you try to stop your car using the brake. However, if you start to hear these sounds, then it means that your braking system is not normal anymore and must be checked.

If you are looking for brake calipers, you should try disc brake calipers. They can also paint them for you to yellow, red and black. To know more about them, you can check their website or give them a call.
